Public Hearing - Planning Board Proposed Zoning Ordinance Changes

NOTICE PUBLIC HEARING

In accordance with the provisions of NH RSA 675:3 and 675:7, the Brookline Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing to consider amendments to the Zoning & Land Use Ordinance on January 4, 2024, at 7:00 PM. at the Brookline Town Hall. If necessary, the Public Hearing will be continued on January 18, 2024, at 7:00 PM.

Section 2450 Short Term Rental Ordinance – This will create an ordinance to promote the health, safety, and general welfare of the citizens of the Town of Brookline and visitors; create general requirements for health and safety; create a permitting process for Short Term Rentals that requires a life safety inspection; and create an enforcement process.

Section 800/900  Nonconforming, Uses, Lots, and Structures and Lots of Record – This proposed change will combine these sections and provide a path forward for Nonconforming Lots of Record for a Special Exception from the ZBA when a new residence or building cannot meet setback requirements.

Section 1200 – Floodplain Ordinance – The changes include new FEMA Floodplain Maps, update some definitions, and remove duplicate information found elsewhere in Ordinance. This change is necessary for Brookline homeowners to get the lowest rates possible on flood insurance.

Section 2100 – Impact Fee Ordinance. This proposed change will make the units in the Impact Fee Schedule consistently dwelling units and clarify when impact fees are assessed.

Materials for the hearing will be available online at www.brooklinenh.us or in the Planning Department office during regular business hours.
